On Sunday, June 11, 2006, we were able to complete a commitment I made to Pastor George Ikwunze of Liberation Assembly Church in Lagos, Nigeria. You know that I visited the nation and church back in December, 2005. After seeing the three small, inadequate generators, the Lord dealt with me about helping them purchase a single, powerful generator.
The one Pastor George wanted cost $4,000, of which I committed to donate $3,000 from our ministry and friends by July 1. Because of the generosity of many people and the major sacrifice of a few, we were able to meet the $3,000 goal and exceed it by $1,000!
THANK YOU friends and partners for your giving and/or prayers! Special thanks to New Covenant and Pastor Jerry Williams & the Agape Word Fellowship family in Raleigh, North Carolina for special gifts to help us exceed our goal.

Original Appeal:
When we traveled to Lagos, Nigeria Africa in December of 2005, one of the world’s most populous cities in oil-rich Nigeria, we were shocked to see the poor state of their electrical service. Corruption and poor infrastructure have left the people, and the churches, with unreliable electrical service.
During our times of ministering to the people, the lights or sound system would go off. At other times, the fans would stop, leaving us sweating more than we were with the fans working! I noticed that Pastor George and a couple of his men would slip out of the meeting and return after the power came back up. I discovered that they were going out behind their building to nurse three old rented electric generators back to life. In order to prevent everything during our meetings from losing power, they used separate generators for the sound system, lighting and fans. They don’t use Lagos’ electrical service, which is less reliable than generators!
I asked to see the generators. Pastor George took me behind the building and showed me the three small generators that powered their entire building (See photo above). The next day, while praying, the Lord put it on my heart to help them purchase a new or quality used generator.
I would like to ask you to help me supply a generator to one of God’s finest servants, Pastor George Ikwunze. He is a man of integrity leading a thriving, self-sustaining church, Liberation Assembly, in the heart of Lagos, Nigeria. They also reach out to villages in eastern Nigeria with crusades, relief and prison ministry (through Jesus Inside Prison Minisry and Pastor William Bumphus). Liberation Assembly is also host to the Firm Foundation Institute learning center in Lagos. They use generated electricity to show video lectures and operate a computer we sent last year. The generator can also be used for the outreach ministries.
I am asking you to help me raise $3,000 to purchase a new or quality used Perkins electric generator by July 1. You can give online at www.NewCovenant.org or mail your tax-deductible offering to our church office. We will insure that funds are properly used for the intended purpose. If you have questions or special considerations, you can contact me directly by email (bhudson@newcovenant.org) or by telephone (317-205-6000).
Thank you in advance for whatever the Lord may lead to you to give!
